Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will give the Union Budget for the eighth time in a row. Every year, the budget is prepared by the Department of Economic Affairs of the Finance Ministry, which emphasizes the nation's economic advantages. Additionally, the budget outlines the government's goals for spending, taxes, and social programs.

The markets previously held live trading sessions on Saturday, February 28, 2015, and Saturday, February 1, 2020. Due to the Union Budget's presentation, the markets were open on these days.

The Union Budget affects many aspects of the economy, making it a major event that causes many investors to change their holdings. Investors also want to profit from the volatility that occurs on budget day.

The interim Union Budget was announced by Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2024. The benchmark Nifty 50 index saw a 0.13% decline in closing prices. On July 23, 2024, the finance minister unveiled the final Union Budget. A tumultuous day ended with the Nifty 50 closing 0.12% down.
