How to Apply for Jio IPO in Angel One (Step by Step)

You need an active Angel One demat account and a UPI ID linked to a bank account with enough balance. Menu names may vary slightly between app versions.

  1. Open the Angel One app and log in.
  2. Go to the IPO section (check the Home or Explore tab).
  3. Select Jio Platforms from the list of open IPOs and tap Apply.
  4. Choose your investor category: Retail Individual Investor (RII).
  5. Enter the number of lots (1 lot = 12 shares).
  6. Select the bid price. Tick Cut-off to bid at the final price and maximise allotment chances.
  7. Enter your UPI ID (for example, name@bank) and review the blocked amount.
  8. Tap Submit and accept the terms.
  9. Approve the UPI mandate request in your UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and others). This step is mandatory. The bid is not valid until you approve it.
  10. Check your Order Book / IPO Orders in Angel One to confirm the bid shows as successful.

Pro tip: Apply well before the cut-off time on the last day. Brokers usually stop accepting bids earlier than the exchange deadline (often around 4–5 PM), and UPI approval delays are the most common reason for failed bids. The money is only blocked in your account, not debited, and is released if you get no allotment.

Lot Size, Minimum and Maximum Investment

LotsSharesAmount at ₹1,119
1 (minimum)12₹13,428
784₹93,996
14 (retail maximum)168₹1,87,992

Retail applications are capped at ₹2 lakh, which works out to 14 lots at the upper price band. Applying for 15 lots (₹2,01,420) would move you to the NII category.

Jio IPO Allotment Status: How to Check

Allotment is expected on 26 October 2026. You can check on:

  • KFin Technologies (registrar) website: choose Jio Platforms and enter your PAN, application number or demat details.
  • BSE IPO allotment page (select issue name and enter application number or PAN).
  • The Angel One app IPO section or order status.

Unallotted funds are unblocked after the refund date, which is normally a day after allotment.

Jio IPO Listing Date and Expected Listing Price

The shares are tentatively expected to list on 28 October 2026 on both BSE and NSE. Based on the current GMP, the indicative listing price is around ₹1,364, but actual listing can be higher or lower depending on market mood, subscription closing numbers and global cues.

Should You Apply? Positives and Risks

Positives

  • Dominant telecom and digital ecosystem with a huge subscriber base.
  • Strong anchor participation from global funds and heavy QIB demand.
  • Brokerages have called the roughly 12x EV/EBITDA valuation reasonable given market share and broadband growth.
  • Healthy GMP shows positive sentiment.

Risks

  • Very large issue size and a high absolute valuation of roughly ₹10 lakh crore at the upper band.
  • Telecom is capital intensive and regulation and tariff driven.
  • GMP can fall before listing, and retail oversubscription is modest compared with institutions, so allotment odds for retail are better than in most hot IPOs.
  • Market volatility can hit listing day performance.
